NOVA SERVICE UNIT PROJECTS

PROJECT 1—POSTPONED UNTIL 11-22-08 DUE TO RAIN

HELPING HANDS of Middletown is in need of help with the Nov.15, 2008 to clean-up in town. The more people that we have the less time it will take and the more people we will be able to help. There will be refreshments and lunch provided. Contact Brandi Earls for more details at 425-0365 or Kathy Wheeler-Deep at 422-3202. (Bring your rakes).

Last year this is what we did. This was a complete success. We had about 20 Girl Scouts, some with parents. We made up 1/2 of the help for the project. We scouts raked 6 yards, some rather large. We made so many home owners happy and in the meantime, made the city looked a little better. Way to go girls. We even had a tremendous lunch that was provided.  Troop 48321 actually was the lone troop to stick it out to the end and they even got interviewed by the newspaper. An even more special appreciation to them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

PROJECT 3

CHRISTMAS FOR THE SOLDIERS---

This was another complete success for our NOVA service unit in 2007. Thanks for all of your generosity. We delivered 5 boxes of goods for our Iraq troops. My aunt and cousin also made homemade cookies and candy. They mailed them today. The troops in Iraq in will have a Merrier Christmas due to your generosity! I can’t thank you enough and they will have an enjoyable time eating, watching movies and listening to tapes and reading the home-made cards from all of the girls that made them. I am so proud to be a part of the NOVA service unit!

PROJECT 4

CHRISTMAS HERE IN TOWN

Let’s mimic what we do for Thanksgiving, only turn it up a notch with gifts for the families.

PROJECT 5

VALENTINE AND EASTER FOR THE SOLDIERS/VETS

Both of these projects have worked very well in 2006 and 2007 for us and the soldiers/vets. Feb.1st for Valentine’s and Mar.6th for Easter are the deadlines to have items to me for delivery in time for the respective holidays for the soldiers. Remember, it takes at least two weeks for items to get to them. So we must think and act ahead to ensure that they get them in a timely manner. Thanks for all of your help in advance.
